I'm excited to announce that ES Wellness has received our certification as a New York State Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE). After a three-year process (yes, you read that right- I started this application in 2019, then 2020 shut everything down and I was asked to resubmit material in 2021) I finally joined the growing roster of minority-and-women-owned businesses in New York State. To be certified, the application process vetted my business by examining previous contracts, the ownership structure, the company's finances, and tax returns, including my net worth, among other things. Slow and steady, one breath at a time was my motto during this journey. If you didn't know, New York state continually advocates increasing opportunities for minority and women business owners by leading the nation in the development of one of the largest public directories of certified MWBEs. The Minority-and-Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certification program promotes equal economic opportunities and eliminates barriers to minority and women-owned businesses in state contracts because a portion of each state contract must be filled by a certified MWBE. I'm sharing my behind-the-scenes news with you because it's really big news for my small business and .... it's time to celebrate good things! Yes, the Pandemic has been hard, but I have a lot to be grateful for and celebrate each day. Hopefully, you do, too. How could my WBE certification benefit you? If your company (or the company you work for) needs a certified WBE Yoga and Meditation Instructor to fulfill its state-funded Wellness Program contract, they can hire me to lead a series of yoga or meditation sessions. Or you can reach out to me directly and I will get in contact with your HR person to start the conversation. I'd be thrilled to come to your place of employment (also on Zoom) and provide easeful yoga sequences, anxiety-relieving breathing exercises, and centering meditations to help alleviate work-related physical and mental stress. My mission is to bring the benefits of yoga and stress-reducing mindfulness techniques to more people, empowering them to care for themselves and others. Hands up in the air! Raise the roof, everybody! Whoot! Whoot! Whoot!
What about you? What are you celebrating these days? Leave a comment below and share your good news.
