Rejuvenating Rest

Did you see the full moon in the sky Monday night? You might be relieved to know that the week after the full moon is said to be restful. So, if you've been feeling scattered, exhausted, or unfocused remember to listen to your body and follow the rhythm of nature. This is the perfect week to allow yourself to "Be" more often.

Life continues to be stressful. Chronic, ongoing stress suppresses your immune system and increases your risk of disease. The antidote to all this stress and the anxiety it creates is rest. You need rest to be successful, healthy, and happy. You don't have to drop your entire schedule for this to be effective. When you spend ten minutes in rejuvenating rest each day, you give your mind, body, and nervous system a chance to recharge on a cellular level.

Here are some reminders of how you can do this:

  • If you work from home sitting in a chair on your phone or a computer, set your alarm every 45 minutes to get up and move your body for ten minutes. Give your eyes and brain a break from screens during this time.

  • Enjoy a 10-minute Savasana in yoga class or on your own at home right now. Use this clip of peaceful music from the Calm Mind Channel as your timer and just lie down and BE. I tested this out the other day. When the 10-minutes were over, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated.

  • Sit with your back against a wall and meditate for ten minutes when you get out of bed in the morning, or before bed at night. Become aware of all the thoughts that are running the show and winding you up. Return to your breath again and again as you let the thoughts pass by like clouds moving across the sky.

  • Sleep! Go to bed early every day this week. After all, it is hibernation season.

Leave me a comment letting me know how you are adding in some rejuvenating rest today and this week. I love hearing from you.

Peace, love, and support,

XO Elyce
